Kym Taflinger (left) of Health Partners of Western Ohio is the first person in the nation to successfully send and receive messages from physicians' offices between Ohio and Mississippi . This secure, "Direct" messaging will allow patient data to eventually be shared across states. What used to be done by fax or phone call will now be done via secure email.
